The Dewan Foundation is making a real difference in communities through sustainable energy solutions. Funded by a gift from the Dewan Foundation, in January 2025, solar panels were installed on the roof of the administrative building at Hope Community School in Zambia. This initiative has transformed the educational environment for Hope's students. Now the school, along with the preschool, library, clinic, orphanage, and administrative building, have access reliable electricity, which is crucial for day-to-day operations.
With the installation of these solar panels, the school moves from inconsistent electricity availability to a stable and sustainable power source. No more blackouts caused by severe drought—just consistent power, lower utility costs, and a cleaner planet!
A Message of Gratitude
Charles, the Director of Hope Community School, expressed his excitement about this transformative addition to the campus:
"They have just run tests on the School side including the Library [and everything] is ready and up and running. They will begin the Orphanage which will connect the Clinic. We are excited. Today was like a dream, we are having electricity continuously from Solar Panels. School opens on Monday [January 13] we will appreciate together with the students this great gift. We are truly grateful."
This message underscores the impact of reliable electricity while also emphasizing its emotional significance for the entire community. We hope you enjoy this beautiful video highlighting the positive effects of their new solar panels. The video expresses gratitude in two verses:
First Verse: Thanks to "Ba Sparkie" (Spark Ventures)
Second Verse: Thanks to "Ba Dewan" (The Dewan Foundation)
Even in the rain—another blessing—they're feeling the power of renewable energy! ☀️🌧️ #Gratitude #SolarForGood
